Director of Sales - Genomic Software

BioDiscovery is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to promote its innovative software products to the clinical market.

The Director of Sales - Genomic Software is expected to be knowledgeable about the needs of clinical labs performing array and NGS based cytogenetic and/or molecular testing. In particular, the Director of Sales is familiar with the data review and interpretation process, best practices and current state-of the-art solutions. The ideal candidate has a proven record of building relationships and selling clinical solutions to senior management in academic as well as commercial testing labs, and can clearly communicate the value of the BioDiscovery software to the market.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships at a high level with clinical labs, hospitals, and academic testing centers
  • Effectively prospect new customer leads by leveraging personal network and marketing campaigns, and by attending industry conference, seminars, workshops and trade shows 
  • Develop and strengthen existing client portfolio
  • Responsible for driving growth of revenue and market share within region
  • Build comprehensive knowledge of prospects, competition, and market
  • Deliver technical presentations, conduct software demonstrations, align key resources, and arrange meetings with existing and potential customers
  • Maintain and track sales leads and accounts in the CRM system

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, as a director of sales or sales specialist, preferably selling enterprise software in the life science industry
  • Demonstrated successful sales experience with large strategic accounts and complex opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate highly technical information to both a technical and non-technical audience, as well as demonstrated persuasive and customer service skills.
  • Solid scientific background in microarray and NGS data analysis is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of cytogenetic testing labs processes and software is a strong advantage. 
  • Strong self-motivation and personal organization skills. Ability to manage time and efforts to maximize results. 
  • Business travel is required and may occasionally include weekends.
